When BNI members are unable to make a meeting, they

send a substitute to represent them. Their substitute will

do their '60 second' for them and exchange referrals with

other members. The substitute will often be allowed to speak

about their own business, unless the business competes with

another member's. It is also a good opportunity to network

with other businessmen who you may not normally meet.
